Metrolinx will shut down more than 200 kilometres of transit this weekend, July 25–26, forcing major route changes across the Greater Toronto Area.

The entire GO Barrie Line will be closed both days between Allandale Waterfront and Union Station. Buses will replace trains north of Rutherford, then run direct to the Highway 407 Bus Terminal, where passengers can connect to the TTC's Line 1 to reach downtown.

The Kitchener Line will also be partially closed. Between Stratford or Kitchener (depending on schedule) and Mount Pleasant, service will be suspended. Trains will run hourly between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis stations only; no GO service will run between Mount Dennis and Union Station. Commuters heading downtown are expected to use local TTC routes, with select GO buses providing trips from Stratford and Kitchener to the Highway 407 terminal.

The UP Express will be entirely shut down both days. On Saturday, July 25, GO replacement buses will run all day between Union Station and Pearson Terminal 1. On Sunday, July 26, bus service will operate approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., before pausing for additional scheduled work on the Gardiner Expressway.
