Dave's Hot Chicken, the LA-born spicy chicken chain that grew from a parking lot stand into a billion-dollar operation with locations across North America, the U.K., and Middle East, opens its first Vancouver location on Friday at 901 Granville St.
The opening had been announced last year. The spot—in the former Cinema Public House space at the corner of Granville and Smithe—will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
The menu is straightforward: hot chicken tenders and sliders offered in spice levels ranging from "No Spice" to "Reaper." Sides include kale slaw, mac and cheese, and regular or cheese-topped fries. The casual format has proven effective in markets across the U.S. and Canada, where the chain has built a loyal following.
Downtown's restaurant landscape continues to shift as established chains test Vancouver's market, while the neighborhood remains a hub for quick-service and casual dining openings.
