Murmur, at 225 E Broadway in Mount Pleasant, closes its doors after final service on Nov. 29, a little over a year after it opened in August 2025.

The owners announced the closure on social media on Thursday. "This has not been an easy decision, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us," the post reads. They describe the past year as "an incredible journey full of ups and downs." They have not given a specific reason for closing.

The restaurant was known for all-day service: doughnuts, sausage rolls and hand pies for snacks, European-inspired sandwiches at lunch and larger mains. It added regular dinner service after it opened, and it operated on a no-tip model. When it opened, the owners told guests the heavily renovated exterior did not reflect the inside: "It's not ugly inside."

The owners have not said whether the Broadway subway construction, which has brought heavy traffic disruptions to the area, played a part in the decision.

Until the end of the month, the owners are inviting people to come in. "Until then, come eat, sit, relax and enjoy," they wrote.
