Ramen Danbo expands with UBC express location and Yaletown flagship opening this fall

Ramen Danbo, widely considered one of Vancouver's best ramen destinations, is expanding with two new locations this fall as the chain continues its takeover of the city.
The ramen restaurant will open an express concept on the UBC campus at 5743 Dalhousie Road with a soft opening on September 23. The new location features self-ordering kiosks alongside dine-in seating, takeout and delivery options—designed for students and campus visitors looking for a quick meal. The format marks the chain's first express concept, differentiating it from its sit-down restaurants.
Danbo is also opening a flagship location in Yaletown at 1130 Mainland Street, in the space formerly occupied by Mapo Pancake House. Details on the new location remain under wraps beyond an anticipated fall opening, but the chain is expected to serve the same Fukuoka-style tonkatsu ramen it's known for.
The chain currently operates five other locations across the province: Kitsilano at 1833 West 4th Avenue, Kerrisdale at 2277 West 41st Avenue, downtown Vancouver at 1333 Robson Street, North Vancouver at 2277 West 41st Avenue, and Main Street at 3982 Main Street. Danbo also has outposts in Seattle and New York. As HighOnCity reported in July, the Main Street location opened with a soft launch on July 15.
