Straight Outta Brooklyn reopens on Kingsway after year-long hiatus

Straight Outta Brooklyn, a Vancouver favourite known for thin-crust New York slices, is back on Kingsway on Friday, September 25, after more than a year away.

The pizzeria closed its previous location at 701 Kingsway in June 2025 when the property underwent redevelopment. The owners moved into the new address at 918 Kingsway in the Kensington Cedar-Cottage neighbourhood, though construction and permitting took longer than expected.

The 900-square-foot restaurant seats 16 people and serves the menu locals have been missing: quarter-pie slices and whole pies, dips, drinks, and tiramisu for dessert. Owner-operator Patrick Kimball said in a statement: "With nine great years serving pizza in this community we're excited to be back after a year away!"

Opening day offers two-window pricing. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., quarter-pie slices are $5. From 4 to 10 p.m., whole Original Margherita and Classic Pepperoni pies cost $20 each, limited to one per customer.

Regular hours run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. The pizzeria is part of the same ownership group running Via Tevere, Dante Italian Sandwich, Don't Argue Pizza, Il Saltimbocca, and Caffè Soccavo.
