As July 1 approaches, the Canada Day Classic is giving runners another reason to sign up with newly revealed race merchandise.
Organizers Vancouver Is Awesome and Kamino Running Co. have released a first look at this year's official race T-shirt and finisher medal, both designed to reflect the spirit of a summer run in Canada. The event is known for delivering a fun, fast, and flat race experience — and this year's designs build on that identity with a clean, classical look rooted in Canadian colours.
"The inspiration behind this year's Canada Day Classic T-shirt and medal design was all about capturing the feeling of a true Canadian summer run," says founder and race director Daniel J. Simpson. "We wanted Canadian colours and a classic feel to the designs."
The medal features a maple leaf design, while the T-shirt incorporates Kamino's series logo, inspired by sun and water elements that reflect the West Coast setting. Together, they connect the race to both the national holiday and the local landscape.
For many participants, the medal represents the effort put in and the moment of crossing the finish line. "We want every runner who finishes to feel celebrated and noticed by recognizing the accomplishment of running in Canada," Simpson says.
Energy is designed to flow from start to finish. A live DJ will be stationed at the start and finish area, helping set the pace for the day, with plans to expand music along the course. Runners can expect a curated set from the DJ team and the national anthem before the race, alongside sponsor activations, giveaways, and high-energy atmosphere.
This year's Canada Day Classic will once again feature certified 5K and 10K routes through Port Coquitlam, designed to be welcoming for runners of all experience levels. Organizers are encouraging spectators, sponsors, and volunteers to actively cheer runners across the line.
The event includes a free one-kilometre kids run designed to welcome younger participants and families. Register now at raceroster.com for all distances.
