B.C.'s largest Filipino festival is returning to Burnaby this summer with a major expansion: for the first time in its four-year history, the Pinoy Festival will take place over two days instead of one.
The festival runs Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21 at Swangard Stadium. It's timed to coincide with the FIFA World Cup, which is bringing global visitors to Vancouver and North America.
Organizers are billing the 2026 edition under the theme "One World, One Goal, One Filipino Spirit," drawing inspiration from how football unites nations. "Just as football unites nations, Pinoy Festival unites communities through culture, heritage, food, and celebration," the organizers said.
The lineup will include a solidarity parade showcasing Filipino organizations and multicultural communities, live entertainment, cultural performances from Filipino and local musical acts, a DJ takeover and concert, a pop-up market, an art exhibition, an educational fashion show, high-energy Zumba, family-friendly activities for all ages, artisan and community booths, and a beer garden.
The festival is volunteer-run, and the food vendor lineup has not yet been announced. Filipino cuisine is renowned for street foods like chicharon bulaklak, pansit, ginanggang, and BBQ skewers, plus multicultural food offerings from across the community.
Admission is free. The festival runs 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days at Swangard Stadium, 6100 Boundary Road in Burnaby.
With the World Cup bringing eyes to the region, this is the moment for the city to see what Filipino culture is all about.
