Fort Langley restaurateur Simone Hurwitz has opened Sabà Pizzeria, her third dining destination in the area, designed as a gathering spot for families seeking stylishly decorated space with reasonably priced Italian fare.

Located just off the main drag at 23238 Mavis Avenue, the pizzeria features indoor-outdoor dining, an interior gelato display, an exterior gelato window, a small market for grab-and-go items, and a deli counter selling fresh-made sandwiches. Appetizers range from $14 to $28, pastas from $22 to $32, and pizzas from $20 to $28.

The concept was inspired by a family-run pizzeria Hurwitz's family frequented in Reggio Emilia, Italy, where her three daughters (all raised in Italy) would run through the kitchen on Sunday dinners. Her youngest daughter, Emma Campani, works as a chef at the new restaurant. Her middle daughter, Danielle Campani, oversees marketing and the gelato program. Her eldest, Laura Campani, who lives in England, helped create the cocktail menu.

The menu opens with red-sauce and white-sauce pizzas ranging from the minimal (marinara with tomato sauce, fresh garlic, oregano, and basil) to the elaborate (mortadella pistachio with fior di latte, mortadella, stracciatella, and toasted pistachios). Pastas include spaghetti cacio e pepe and pappardelle alla Bolognese. Pizzas are cooked in a towering stone-front oven visible from the dining area. Desserts include panna cotta, olive oil cake, affogato, and tiramisu ($14 each).

Sabà Pizzeria opens daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (market 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
