Kyle Jensen, 40, charged with 11 offences in Monday Aldergrove shooting that left one hospitalized

Langley RCMP say charges include robbery with a firearm, break and enter, dangerous driving, and flight from police. The victim remains in serious but stable condition.

Langley RCMP arrested Kyle Jensen, 40, and charged him with 11 offences following a shooting Monday, Aug. 24 in Aldergrove that left one person in serious but stable condition.

First responders were called to the 26900-block of 26A Avenue around midday Monday. They found one person with injuries; BC Emergency Health Services and Township Fire Department assisted Langley RCMP at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Investigators determined Jensen fled the area in a vehicle that was subsequently observed driving erratically near 256 Street and 24 Avenue. He was arrested in that vicinity.

Jensen faces charges including break and enter, robbery with a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, three counts of pointing a firearm, occupying a vehicle knowing a firearm was present, theft of a motor vehicle, flight from police, dangerous driving, unlawfully causing bodily harm, and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

"There is no ongoing risk to the public," RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said, adding that the incident is believed to be isolated. The motive remains under investigation. Jensen is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
