Langley senior in critical condition after assault on Canada Day

A 75-year-old Langley resident is in critical condition after being assaulted on Canada Day. Officers responded at 9:48 p.m. to reports of a man in distress near Park Avenue and Douglas Crescent.
Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Langley RCMP investigators have reviewed video surveillance and believe the victim's injuries resulted from an assault at that location.
Police believe additional people were present in the area and may have witnessed the incident. Anyone who was nearby between 9:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., or who has dash camera or CCTV footage from the surrounding area, is asked to contact Langley RCMP.
