Two men charged in 2025 Langley taxi shooting of 24-year-old Taran Pandher

Two men have been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of Taran Pandher, a 24-year-old killed inside a taxi in Langley nearly a year ago.
Jared Douglas Polischuk, 35, and Luis Manuel Baez, 29, were arrested Friday and jointly charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Pandher was shot on September 5, 2025, near 200th Street and 53rd Avenue in Langley while riding as a passenger in a cab. About 30 minutes after the shooting, a vehicle fire was reported in nearby Surrey; investigators believe the fire was connected to the homicide.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) determined the shooting was targeted and linked to the ongoing B.C. gang conflict. "Gang homicides are among the most complex and high-risk investigations to manage," said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT.
Fong said the charges represent an important milestone but noted that police believe others may have been involved in the killing. The case remains under investigation, and no further information is being released while the matter is before the courts.
