De Dutch closes Port Coquitlam location after 25 years
The beloved breakfast chain shuts down its Metro Vancouver outpost, ending a quarter-century of weekend brunches and pannekoeken.
De Dutch, the beloved Dutch pancake chain, has closed its Port Coquitlam location after 25 years of service.
The restaurant announced the closure earlier this month through social media, expressing gratitude for the community's support over the years. "We have truly enjoyed being a part of your celebrations, Sunday brunches, and weekday coffees," the restaurant wrote. "We would like to thank you for your years of support and memories."
De Dutch is best known for its signature pannekoeken—Dutch pancakes that are thinner and larger than their American counterparts. The chain has maintained a loyal following across the region for its breakfast and brunch offerings.
It's the kind of closure that hits differently—a place where people marked time, celebrated mornings, built habits. Port Coquitlam loses a reliable anchor.
