Mount Royal Bagel Factory, a fixture of North Vancouver's food scene since 1999, has suddenly closed its doors.
A handwritten note on the front door of the business at 701 Queensbury Ave. read: "Unfortunately closed for the foreseeable future. Thank you to our very loyal customers. You'll be missed."
As of Wednesday, the shop's phone number was disconnected, social media accounts taken down, and the email address was not working. The business did not respond to requests for comment on the closure. Mount Royal's website was still active as this article was published, showing multiple products for sale—some of which have appeared on shelves at local grocery stores.
The bagel shop was widely known for producing what locals described as some of the best bagels on the North Shore.
