Lawn bowling teams from White Rock heading to national championships
Two White Rock Lawn Bowling Club teams earned spots at Canadian nationals after winning gold and silver at recent provincial tournaments.

Two teams from the White Rock Lawn Bowling Club have clinched spots in national competitions after returning from recent provincial events with medals.
The Men's Seniors Triples team, Team Baldwin, won gold in the Senior Men's Triples Provincial Championships held June 26–28 at the Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club. Skip Dave Baldwin, lead Jim Guszowaty, and second Bill Pattinson of Maple Ridge LBC will represent B.C. at the Canadian Championships, set for August 25–30 in Windsor, Ontario.
The Women's Fours team—skip Sharon Baldwin, third Kathy Harms, and second Gina Guszowaty of the White Rock club, along with lead Lynn Chwartacki of Qualicum Beach LBC—won silver in the Open Ladies Provincial Fours held June 19–21 at Lake Hill LBC in Victoria. Team Baldwin will now compete at the 2026 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships, set for August 16–24 in North Vancouver.
During the provincial tournament, the women posted a four-wins–two-losses record during qualifying, followed by a close victory in the semi-final and a loss to Richmond in the final. The men's Team Baldwin defeated the team of Vancouver Island's Dennis Verge in their final.
