The Broadway Subway construction project is showing major visual progress, with the first standalone station entrance buildings now rising above ground across the line.

Clear structural progress is visible at three locations: Great Northern Way–Emily Carr Station at Great Northern Way and Thornton Street, Mount Pleasant Station at Main and Broadway, and Oak–VGH Station at Laurel and Broadway. Wooden ceiling panels—each weighing roughly 1,400 kg at the Oak–VGH location—are being installed on top of the steel frames.

These station houses will be enclosed by glass walls, allowing natural light inside while meeting Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design principles. The glass design also allows for future overhead building additions, similar to developments above other SkyTrain stations.

Great Northern Way–Emily Carr Station's entrance will feature a concrete roof that could integrate with PCI Developments' adjacent mixed-use redevelopment. South Granville Station takes a different approach, fully integrated into the ground level of PCI's 39-storey Stories tower at West Broadway and Granville, which opens alongside a 22,000-square-foot Loblaws City Market on June 26.

All six stations on the Millennium Line extension to Arbutus will have at least three levels including ground-level entrances, underground concourses, and platform areas. The line is set to open in late 2027.
