U.S. tourist dies six days after being struck by cyclist in downtown Vancouver
The 72-year-old was crossing at West Cordova and Richards Street when hit by a cyclist on June 29.

A 72-year-old tourist from the United States has died following injuries sustained in a collision with a cyclist in downtown Vancouver.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 29 at West Cordova and Richards Street. The couple, who reportedly had the right of way while crossing, were struck by a cyclist travelling east on Cordova Street. The cyclist was not injured and remained at the scene.
The 72-year-old man lost consciousness as a result of the collision and was transported to Vancouver General Hospital for emergency surgery. Vancouver Police initially reported him in stable but critical condition. His wife suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
On July 5, the man passed away in the hospital. His wife has since recovered. It remains unclear if there will be any charges relating to the incident. The Vancouver Police Department investigation is ongoing.
