The Instagram account tiwanafarmservivor, which has amassed over 60,000 followers, has been sharing videos from the property for about a week. One video shows the landlord surrounded by Surrey Police Service members and handcuffed. Other videos allege the landlord cut power to tenants, brought in someone to intimidate residents, and depicted alleged assault incidents.
A tenant posted: "I'm a single mom of two, and I kept getting called down for asking to have our power turned back on. We weren't asking for anything extra — just electricity." Another post said: "He claimed he bought the farm but wouldn't give me his name."
Surrey Police characterized the situation as "part of what was an ongoing landlord-tenant civil dispute" requiring their attendance on several occasions, with calls made by both landlord and tenants. An arrest was made on one occasion, though no charges have been approved yet. The case is currently under investigation.
