Emeri Matcha Bar opens this weekend, June 20, at 2833 Main Street in Mount Pleasant, settling into a permanent home after a wildly successful pop-up run in South Granville last year.
The space itself is built for lingering. Big windows flood the chic café with natural light, and the interior features sleek decor with vibrant green accents. At the counter, baristas work among rows of green gooseneck kettles, whisks, and bowls—the traditional matcha preparation visible with every pour.
Emeri sources matcha and hojicha directly from farms in Japan, offering varieties that range from light and subtle to deep and complex. Expect rotating cultivars and seasonal flavours as the year progresses. Beyond the ceremonial tea experience, the spot also serves two flavours of matcha soft serve, with plans to introduce snacks and bakery items over the coming months.
The founders built credibility through their pop-up, proving the concept could sustain a full-time operation. Now they're bringing that same curated approach—and the same sourcing ethic—to a permanent downtown location where locals can make matcha part of their regular rhythm.
