Two overnight vehicle shootings in Abbotsford and Delta investigated as targeted incidents

Metro Vancouver police are investigating two overnight vehicle-related shootings Saturday into Sunday, both believed to be targeted.
In Abbotsford, individuals in a dark-coloured SUV fired multiple shots at another vehicle on McCallum Road between Switzer Avenue and Braun Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, September 5. No one was injured. Minutes later, a fully engulfed SUV was found burning in the 2400-block of Sunnyside Place. Abbotsford Police Department Major Crime Unit is investigating whether the vehicle fire is connected to the shooting.
"Early indications suggest that this incident was targeted," Sgt. Paul Walker said. Investigators are working to determine the motive.
In Delta, shots were fired at approximately 4:30 a.m. September 7, near the 10600-block of 64th Avenue close to Highway 91 on-ramp. A victim was located at the scene with minor, non-life-threatening injuries and transported to hospital in stable condition. Delta Police are looking for a grey Kia Forte driven from the area before officers arrived.
"Police believe this is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to the public," Staff Sgt. Mike Whiteley said.
