Richmond RCMP constable charged with two counts of dangerous driving

A Richmond RCMP officer has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm stemming from an incident in July 2025. Const. Beyond Xi, 28, will have a first appearance in Richmond Provincial Court on August 4.
The charges relate to a collision in which a police cruiser responding to a call eastbound on Williams Road crashed with a Honda Ridgeline at the intersection of No. 4 Road. The driver of the Ridgeline, two pedestrians, a resident of a neighbouring home, and Xi were all taken to hospital with injuries.
The Independent Investigations Office conducted an investigation, which was then referred to the BC Prosecution Service for charge assessment. The service said the charges were approved by an experienced Crown counsel with no connection to the accused.
