Const. Beyond Xi of Richmond RCMP has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm following a collision in July 2025, the B.C. Prosecution Service announced Friday.
Xi was driving a police vehicle when it collided with a Honda Ridgeline at Williams and No. 4 roads in Richmond. The driver of the Ridgeline, a man in his 50s, was injured. Three other people were also injured in the crash: two pedestrians and a person in their yard. The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. stated that the two pedestrians sustained serious injuries; all four were taken to hospital.
The IIO investigated the incident by taking witness statements, obtaining specialized forensic reports from a third party, and reviewing video footage from the area.
Xi's first court appearance is set for August 4 in Richmond.
