A Richmond RCMP constable has been charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of trust following an investigation by Coquitlam RCMP.

Const. Jae Suk Choi was charged Thursday, June 4, for an alleged incident that took place in Richmond on Christmas Day 2025. The BC Prosecution Service approved the charges through an experienced Crown counsel with no connection to the accused.

Choi's first court appearance is scheduled for June 16 in Richmond Provincial Court. The BC Prosecution Service said it will not release additional information or comment further while the matter is before the courts. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
