Construction photos reveal major progress on the Broadway-City Hall Station interchange, where an underground network of pedestrian passageways, escalators, staircases, and elevators is being carved to connect the existing Canada Line with the Millennium Line's new Broadway extension.

The project is substantially reshaping the station at the intersection of West Broadway and Cambie Street. Four separate connections are being built to the existing Canada Line station, along with five additional elevators and 12 additional escalators. The existing Canada Line platforms are also being extended by 10 metres — from approximately 40 to 50 metres — by removing false walls at the north end that had concealed void spaces left for future lengthening.

Unlike today's transfer between the Canada Line and the 99 B-Line bus, passengers will be able to make the entire transfer underground and within the single fare paid zone. Some of the latest work is occurring immediately next to the existing Broadway-City Hall Station entrance at the southeast corner of West Broadway and Cambie. Crews are constructing three future openings in the east wall of the entrance building: one closest to the entrance will lead directly to elevators connecting the Millennium Line platforms; another will become a window just outside the station's fare gates; a third will lead to two escalators and a staircase serving both the Millennium Line platforms and the Canada Line's northbound platform.

The Broadway Subway Project will open to the public in late 2027. When complete, the interchange will transform Broadway-City Hall Station from a single-line stop into a transfer nexus.

As HighOnCity reported in July, West Broadway is closed for six months as construction continues. The two-lane closure runs from Birch to Granville.
