The elevator serving Vancouver's Burrard Station will be closed for replacement between July 21, 2026 and spring 2027 as part of TransLink's Expo Line modernization program.

Please allow 20 minutes additional trip time to complete detours as needed. Connections to and from SkyTrain and Burrard Station are available via several alternatives.

Bus connections include the #5 Downtown bus from Burrard Bay 7, across the street from the main station entrance, disembarking at the intersection of Cambie and Dunsmuir streets, then travelling one block south to Stadium-Chinatown Station. Alternatively, catch the #5 Robson from the intersection of Cambie and Dunsmuir streets, one block northwest from the station entrance, disembarking at Burrard Station Bay 1.

Street-level travel is also an option: walk along Dunsmuir Street between Burrard and Granville Station's accessible entrance, located just southeast of Granville Street.

This work is part of a broader Expo Line Elevator Replacement Program, bringing modern, higher-capacity elevators to keep customers moving safely and reliably. Many aging elevators along Expo Line have been in service for four decades. The new elevators feature 20 per cent more room, making it easier for customers with mobility devices, strollers, bikes, and luggage to get a spot and move through stations faster. They also require less downtime for maintenance, minimizing impacts for customers and staff. Each elevator replacement takes approximately four months, with work at up to four stations at once. Stations with two elevators have only one replaced at a time to keep the other accessible.
