A 26-year-old electric motorbike driver struck on Ladner Trunk Road near 104 Street in Delta on Saturday, Aug. 8 around 5 p.m. is now in stable condition and expected to be released from hospital following surgery, Delta police said Monday.
The rider was initially transported in critical condition with life-threatening injuries but has since improved. His injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.
The collision involved the motorbike and another vehicle and forced the closure of Ladner Trunk Road for several hours. Police have not yet identified the other vehicle or its driver, and the exact cause remains under investigation. Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors.
