Oakridge-41st Avenue Station closes early Sunday to Thursday for one month of construction

Oakridge-41st Avenue Station at W 41st Avenue and Cambie Street will close early at 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday nights beginning Aug. 24 and continuing through late September. Canada Line trains will pass through without stopping during these closure hours.

Construction crews are upgrading the station entrance, including demolishing the current entrance structure, pouring and curing concrete slabs near the stairs, adding glass panels to the roof, and installing a roll-up security barrier. The work is intended to improve station accessibility and circulation capacity to accommodate ridership growth expected from the nearby Oakridge Park development, which includes a major shopping mall, office and residential uses, a rooftop destination park, and community centre.

The closures exclude Friday and Saturday nights and statutory holidays. The station will remain open on Labour Day, Sept. 6 and 7. TransLink estimates passengers should allow up to 20 minutes additional travel time during closures. Route 15 and N15 NightBus service will be available at the station during closures to travel between King Edward and Langara-49th Avenue stations.

Digital signage at platforms and audio announcements on trains will notify riders of the closures. Hoarding and signage will be placed inside and outside the station. More early closures are planned for the station into 2027 as construction continues. TransLink has not disclosed the scope or cost of the upgrades or a completion date beyond late September.
