Surrey shooting leaves one dead, RCMP take over
Male found in vehicle that hit power pole early Sunday. No arrests made as Integrated Homicide Investigation Team leads inquiry.
A man was shot and killed in Surrey early Sunday morning when his vehicle struck a power pole in the area of 138 Street and 62 Avenue.
Surrey Police Service responded to reports of a shooting around 12:22 a.m. Officers found the male suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. Despite medical assistance from officers and paramedics, he was pronounced deceased on scene.
The RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation. No arrests have been made, and police say there is no suspect information to share at this stage.
